SAVE THE DATE - MVRMA Workshop, February 4-6, 2020

The Land and Water Boards of the Mackenzie Valley, the Mackenzie Valley Review Board, the Government of the Northwest Territories, and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada are excited to host the MVRMA Workshop 2020 at the Explorer Hotel in Yellowknife from Tuesday, February 4 to Thursday, February 6, 2020. This year’s workshop theme is engagement and consultation.

The Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act (MVRMA) specifically sets out that people’s concerns need to be considered and the decisions made by these Boards must maintain the protection of the social, cultural and economic well-being of residents of the Mackenzie Valley and the well-being and way of life of the Indigenous people. Resource management Boards in the Mackenzie Valley base their decisions on engaging people who are potentially affected.

The Boards have been engaging with people on the different aspects of resource management including land use planning, permitting and licensing and environmental assessment of projects and the management of renewable resources such as wildlife.

How can you participate before the workshop?

Please let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions for: the agenda, suggested speakers, and how engagement and consultation should be discussed. The deadline for suggestions is October 15, 2019. Please send your thoughts to:
