The City of Yellowknife withdrew the accompanying Water Licence Amendment Application for the Submarine Pipeline Replacement Project; this was acknowledged by Board staff on January 31, 2024.​

City of Yellowknife Submarine Pipeline Replacement Project.

The existing waterline bringing raw water from Yellowknife River to the Water Treatment Plan is approaching the end of its service life and does not have capacity for Yellowknife's future water needs.

Over next 5 years the project, the project entails 8.8km of new pipeline and upgrades to two pumphouse facilities.
