In light of the rapidly changing situation regarding the risks of transmission of COVID-19 in the NWT, the Land and Water Boards of the Mackenzie Valley (GLWB, SLWB, WLWB, MVLWB) are taking a proactive approach to limit the possible spread of the virus by closing its offices to the public, effective March 19, 2020.

This decision was made to ensure the health and safety of our staff, Board members, individuals involved in our proceedings, as well as the public at large. We continue to monitor the situation and are adhering to all recommendations of the relevant public health authorities. Staff who are able to will be working from home. All Parties requiring assistance are asked to contact staff via email. Please be sure to include the Regulatory Manager or Executive Director in addition to the file lead to ensure your email is prioritized appropriately. Our staff will try to respond to any inquiry in as timely a manner as possible under the circumstances. All internal and external in-person meetings are suspended until further notice.

The Land and Water Boards will continue to operate as best as possible to fulfill our mandate under the Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act. Any Parties requiring an extension to a comment, response, or submission deadline, should submit a request in writing. All requests, submissions, and applications will continue to be received; however, please note that timelines for public reviews and proceedings may be affected. And, please note that regional situations and circumstances may differ. We appreciate your patience during this time.
